RiSE Lantern Festival

While out in Las Vegas the other weekend, we stopped by the RiSE Lantern Festival. The lantern release itself was one of the most amazing things i’ve ever witnessed in person. The beauty of that portion of the event was beyond spectacular. Truly a hallmark moment in life. The logistics of getting to, and especially leaving the venue, was one of the most horrifically unorganized and unsafe things i’ve ever attended.

I’d highly recommend for everyone to check out this event, if it was complete overhauled and restructured from the ground up. If it is run by the same people, in the same manner, I would not suggest the event to anyone. Check out their yelp reviews to get a small sense of the sheer madness most people had to go through RISE LAS VEGAS REVIEWS

At least we got some pretty good footage as a consolation!

Chef Craig Thornton & Andrew Zimmern

We were lucky enough to catch a couple of seats at the famous high-concept “Wolvesmouth” dinner party at the Wolvesden. If you haven’t heard about it yet, Chef Craig Thornton takes you on a social experiment meets crazy/casual art gallery dinner party. More info on the wolvesmouth website

Coincidentally enough, there was also some other special guests that night. None other than Mr. Bizarre Foods himself, Andrew Zimmern. He even brought his crew with him since they were doing a segment on Chef Craig that very night! Andrew has to be one of the most easy-going, and nicest television personalities I’ve ever met. Check out the pictures below for a hint at some of the madness.

Electric Daisy Carnival 2014

Another year, another EDC LAS VEGAS event. This time with electronic music royalty, Paul Oakenfold!

The Las Vegas speedway was crazy as ever, and being able to see it from a birds eye perspective really enhances the idea of how insanely ludicrous this electronic festival really is. Check out some of the pictures below just for a hint of the madness that is EDC, and stay tuned for the short recap video for Paul Oakenfold’s Trance Mission tour over at EDC 2014!

Arriany & Vintage Cars

We met up with our longtime friend and photobombing master, Sam Hon of Optical Panacea for his shoot with UFC ring girl, Ms. Arianny Celeste. We’ve shot many fun BTS (behind the scenes) shoots with them before, and this was no exception! Check out some stills from the shoot:

Encore Beach Club

Encore Beach Club is known pretty well in the Las Vegas day club scene. Located at what is typically called Surrender at the Encore, EBC is looking to launch it’s latest iteration by combining it’s nightclub element with the pool party vibe. Encore Beach Club At Night is premiering in the coming months, and we handled a behind the scenes video shoot as we joined photographer/artist Sam Hon of Optical Panacea for the new ad campaign.

It was a pretty long day, but everyone was extremely talented and professional. It’s always a pleasure to work with others who have such high standards for their craft. From makeup & hair, wardrobe, talent, and even production assistants. Check out the image gallery above for some hints on what’s in store for the behind the scenes promo video that we’re putting together!

The people have spoken!

The FreedomCase KickStarter launched less than a week ago and it’s been nothing short of successful. In fact, the team was able to FULLY meet their $40,000 pledge goal in UNDER 24 HOURS! WOW!

The response from the community has been great. They still have a little more than 3 weeks to go on their campaign, and they’re well over DOUBLE of their goal financial amount with almost 2,000 backers! We’re very happy and proud for their early success, and even happier that they were gracious enough to have us produce their video.

#standwithme

Last night we were invited to check out the premiere of Stillmotion‘s first original documentary #standwithme

The film takes a dark and typically neglected topic of child slavery and tells it in a beautifully shot and narrated way that is both engaging, insightful, and surprisingly lighthearted. It was a pleasure to be in the presence of people who were so talented in their ability to tell such an carefully artistic, educational and yet uplifting story. I highly recommend for you guys to check them out and maybe even head out to a premiere if they’re heading towards your city!

The 1975

I don’t know what it is, but I’ve been finding a lot of new good music lately, and it’s not anything EDM or Trap related. Maybe it’s because i’ve been listening to so much electronic dance music for the past couple of years that i’m starting to appreciate traditional instrumental bands again? Or maybe there’s a ton of great, new, young talent out there?! Either way, I’m always super happy to find new music that I enjoy. It makes me feel like I just found a four leaf clover on the street or something. hah.

The 1975 have a great synth and modern 80s sound to them.
That Manchester swag definitely kicks it up a notch too.

I’m really digging the atmospheric guitar sounds and the vocals. Just a great vibe overall.

Check out their self-titled album if you can. I usually rummage through an entire album and only keep songs that I genuinely like from an record. A “good album” to me is when I can find myself keeping about 70% of the songs. I’ve kept 95% of the songs on the deluxe album, so what does that say? Definitely excited to see how these guys progress.

Love their music so far.

Elevate.

If you know me, you know that i’m a sucker for 80′s ballads and phil collins. I just ran into this song by St. Lucia called Elevate (coincidentally very appropriate title for this website), whose album is now in rotation on my playlist. This is such a perfect soundtrack song.

Don’t be surprised if I end up featuring it on one of my personal videos. Enjoy!
